Root canal posts are available in different materials. With high-quality in precious metal, with which root canal caps are manufactured to accommodate anchors, post crowns and cast abutments. Burn-out root canal posts allow for cost-effective solutions. Root canal anchors with self-tapping thread are used for the reconstruction of endodontically treated teeth. Once a tooth which has been severely destroyed by caries is subjected to root canal treatment, only little of the original tooth structure usually remains preserved. To compensate for the lost substance, a post construction is inserted, which stabilises the tooth and provides sufficient retention for a crown.
